Our Famlilies

We love our families. All families are different but they are all very special. It doesn't matter if our family is big or small or who is in it we still love them lots. The children drew these pictures to show all the special people in their families.

Yellow Flag

We were the first school in Galway to get the yellow flag. It celebrates diversity. Last year we celebrated diversity by learning about all the diffetent countries where children are from in our school. We loved intercultural week. The minister of education and skills came down to our yellow flag ceremony.

We are Special

We have been learning how everyone is different and special in 1st Class. We made these lovely self portraits using oil pastels and paint.

Rugby

We are lucky to have Will in from Connacht Rughy in teaching us rugby skills. The boys and girls are loving it!

Gaillimh Abù

What a super Month it has been. Galway won the All Ireland hurling final and we had great fun making jerseys and wrist bands. We watched some of the match too and saw David Burke lifting the Liam Mc Carthy cup! Dublin won the All Ireland Football final so Mùinteoir Damian was very happpy about that too!
This is the Galway song we loved!

Maths- concrete materials

We know 1st class maths is a big jump but all the boys and girls are trying so hard. We find using concrete materials like cubes/ marbles/ bears etc is great for our adding and our number stories. We will be going all the way to 100 this year so it is a big change from Senior Infants! Keep up the great work.

Welcome Back to School

I hope you all had a lovely summer! We have all settled back into school and are back into routine with our friends. We made a friendship puzzle to show how we all fit together in 1st class and we painted our crayon our favourite colour to be part of Mùinteoir Niamh's new pack!
